HealingHome Ministries has been invited to NYC by the WTC 9/11 First Responders Foundation and will be attending the 9/11 memorial service.

HealingHome Mission

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

HealingHome Ministries is a Christian 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping First Responders and their families cope and heal from work-related stress. Our goal is to provide First Responders with an environment where they can: focus on relaxing away from the work environment, reconnect with family and friends, and find renewal through a non-denominational Christian focused approach.

We provide four types of recreational based retreats: Department Focused, Self-Referral, Marriage Enrichment, and Family Focused.

Retreats provide ample opportunities for free time and recreational opportunities. Four inter-related sessions are offered for guests to attend on a voluntary basis:

1. "Process Decompression"* for persons experiencing Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), which includes service providers and in some cases their family members.

2. "How To Help Persons With PTS", service providers helping other service providers and family members helping "their" service provider.

3. "Grief Resolution" to enable participants to work through the losses created by the Critical Incident(s).

4. “Marriage Enrichment" to encourage and support the use of the healing process as opportunities for increased intimacy and caring.

*Process Decompression is a copy written program developed by the Institute of Pastoral Care (IPC) for soldiers redeploying from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom through Fort Lee, Virginia, 2003-04. Dr. Curd is the Founding Director of IPC.
